Happy Halloween!....Again!

Hi All,
I have been on a crafting spree, which is good as I am, as usual, behind! I started focusing on my Grandmothers gifts as her 102nd birthday is also this coming September! I needed a sketch and went on over to Try Stamping on Tuesday and they had a great sketch:

and here is what I came up with:

I used my Lacy Brocade EF, the retired Wicked Cool set, and some of my left over Howstooth & Scaringbone DP. I love the impact of the Silver Encore Ink with the bats! Hope she likes it!

Another Halloween Challenge!

Hi All,
I wanted to share another card that I made for my Great Aunt. I was motivated by the sketch over at the Colour and Sketch Blog:

I loved the sketch and knew it would work with the designer paper that I wanted to use. Check out my design:

You will have to excuse the slightly offset circle, my step daughter was having some fun helping! Makes it priceless! Anyhow I used the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DP that I had, ran the tangerine tango through my Lacy Brocade EF with some black satin ribbon down the center. The sentiment was from the now retired "Wicked Cool" stamp set. Hope she likes this set!

Happy Halloween??!!

Hi All,
With no baby yet and only half day shifts at work I carved out a little time (between some other projects and the couch!!) to work on my Great Aunt's Halloween cards, You see her 103ed birthday is in September and I always set her with up with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards. So! I was able to finish her Thanksgiving cards the other day and wanted to move onto her Halloween cards. So I went on over to Pals Paper Arts and they had another great sketch:
07-24

And here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Very Vanilla, heat embossed the bats from the retired Wicked Cool stamp set and some of my favorite pieces of the now retired Howlstooth and Scaringbone DP. Not sure if you can see but I used the awesome Silver Encore ink with the spider web behind the sentiment. Love the sparkle from that ink! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving??

Morning All,
I actually had yesterday off so I decided to get started on some of the gifts I need for my Great Aunt's upcoming 103 birthday this Fall. I typically make her Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards in the Summer so they are ready for her and figured I was getting a bit behind as its already the end of July!!! So I had gone on over to Try Stamping on Tuesday and they had this great sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Very Vanilla, some stripes of Cherry Cobbler that I ran through my Lacy Brocade EF, some Soft Suede and some pieces of Comfort Café that I held onto. A little Bakers Twine and I was done! Hope she likes them!

Freshly Made Thank You

Morning All.
I wanted to share a thank you card that I had a chance to make yesterday. Of course I still am behind on my "Thank You's" and wanted to try and catch up and had a few moments yesterday. I had gone on over to one of my favorite challenges: Freshly Made Sketches and they had another motivating sketch:

Loved the possibilities! Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Whisper White, Pool Party and a few strips of the retired Salabration DP that I have hoarded! I used the sentiment from Short and Sweet and the onesie came from the new Something for Baby stamp set and coordinating framelits! So fun!

Love when a card comes together so easily! Have a great day!

More Fun with Blendabilities!

Hi All,
I wanted to share some thank you cards I made last night using my Blendabilities. I had an idea about combining the different color families and wondering how many colors I could combine and still like the end product. Here is what I came up with:

The one on the right uses three groups: Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight, all medium shades. The one on the left uses the dark and medium shades of the Cherry Cobbler and the medium shade of the Pumpkin Pie markers with a Daffodil Delight center. I like them both but really love the warmth of the left card. I did change the focus of where I placed the colors as I placed the darkest color near the center of the petal versus starting on the outside of the petal moving towards the center with the lightest color. Love experimenting with these markers!! Email me with any questions!
Thanks Karin

Another Freshly Made Christmas

Evening All,
I wanted to share another card that I made for my upcoming Christmas Stamp a stack. I had gone on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they had another great sketch:

I loved the layout and it fit the type of card I wanted to make.

I used an old favorite "dasher" as my focal point, some retired DP I had squirreled away and my Short and Sweet set for the sentiment, which, by the way, fits perfectly in the Bitty Banners Framelits! Love them!
Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Christmas

Hi All,
As promised here is card number two of my Christmas in July class. I had gone on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they, of course, had a great sketch:

I loved the clean lay out! Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Pool Party, some Smokey Slate, Whisper White and some Winter Frost DP I had picked up. I love the Silver Encore ink and how it goes with the metallic paper! Of course I used the Christmas Messages for my sentiment! A little button with some Bakers Twine and I was done! Love the layout! Have a great day!

Christmas in July!

Hi All,
I wanted to share a few cards over the next few days that I made for my Christmas in July class that I am offering next week. I wanted a clean layout but tend to "over do" when I am stumped so I went on over to Colors and Sketches BlogSpot and they had a great sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

I have some retired Festival of Prints DP that worked perfectly for the ornament with the coordinating ribbon. I used the Christmas Messages stamp set that is being carried over from the last holiday catalog (Christmas Messages Wood 131790 $28.95 Clear 131793 $20.95 9 stamps). I love the sentiments in this set! Should make for a great card to have at my stamp a stack! Have a great day!

Winnie the Pooh Thank You!

Evening All,
Sorry for the hiatus....again! I moved my stamping stuff and it wasn't working for me so I had to revamp the set up and finally I think I found a solution! Anyway I needed to make a few special Thank you's for friends and family. I had received a few really special Winnie the Pooh gifts that called for an equally special thank you card. Here is what I came up with after looking at quite a few on line:

I cant even give one person credit as there is a bunch that I saw when "googling" Winnie the Pooh. He didn't turn exactly like I thought but he still is pretty cute. I decided I wanted him to hold the balloons and so I put the sentiment in the yellow center balloon.  I used my Top Note Die for the Whisper White background and various punches to make his body and face. Hopefully I will be able to sneak in a few more cards before my new little "friend" is here!
Have a great night!
