Wacky Wednesday!!

WOW what a day!! Fortunately I gave myself a little time to craft and decompress. I had gone on over to the Paper Players Blog and they had a great color challenge that was right up my alley:

I have been using these colors quite a bit, especially Pool Party! Love Love Love! Anyway then I went over to Try Stamping on Tuesday and, as usual, they had a great sketch:

I mashed up the two challenges and here is what I came up with:

Here is what I used:
Paper: Pool Party, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Poppy Parade and Everyday Enchantment DP
Ink: Soft Suede and Poppy Parade
Stamp Set: Fresh Vintage and Short and Sweet
Punches: Designer Label, Large and small tag punches and Eyelet Border Punch
Other: Pool Party Seam Binding

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #16 & CCMC 183

Hi All,
I was in the mood for adding another card to my Valentine's Day "stash". So went on over to Create with Connie and Mary and they had a great color challenge:
2012 Create Challenges-001
Now that I had my color palette I needed a sketch so went on over to Freshly Made Sketches. Here was their great sketch for the week:

Another great design as usual! Here is what I came up with (I ended up taking two photos with my camera as I wasn't sure which one showed the colors the best:

I really enjoy participating in all challenges, but really think the color challenges make me work outside my comfort zone. For example, I don't normally reach for Soft Suede, but I really love how it looks layered with Blushing Bride and Pool Party! My recipe is as follows:
Cardstock: Blushing Bride cardstock and DP, Pool Party and Soft Suede
Ink: Pool Party
Stamp Sets: Sweet Shoppe Alphabet
Embellishments: Big Shot and Polka Dots embossing folder and Pool Party Seam Binding  (New for the now live Occasions Mini!! YEAH!!!!)

Hope your enjoying your Friday!

OCC + PPA122 Challenges

Hi All,
Well after a very long day I gave myself a little time to complete a card challenge (or two!). I started over at Pals Paper Arts. They have a lovely seasonal color challenge. They wanted a card with the colors Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, and Very Vanilla.  Once I had my colors in mind I went on over to our creative corner and they had a great sketch. Here it is:

So I combined these two wonderful challenges and this is what I came up with:
I changed up the center shape to fit my needs. Here is the recipe:
Paper: Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke and Deck the Halls DP (retired so sad!!)
Punches: Ornament.
Embellishment: Big Shot with Oval Die cut and Petals a Plenty embossing folder. Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, which is layered under the Vanilla Victorian Crochet ribbon on top (very pretty in person!!). Finally there is Cherry Cobbler Quilted Ribbon that the ornament is "hanging" from.  I also sprayed the ornament with Vanilla Shimmer mist. Very "sparkly" but understated. :)
Hope you like it! I love to play with these two challenges!

Christmas "CASeing

Hi all,
Been in a little bit of a funk with card creating time. Between back to school , ill horses and relatives turning 99 AND 100 plate is kind of full with activities!! Last night I decided that I would spend some time getting ready for an upcoming workshop. My friend would like to complete two Christmas cards at her workshop and I was ready to use the new Christmas Lodge set. I was having some trouble thinking outside the "box" so I spent some time on the Stampin Connection, the Stampin Up demonstrator only web site and found this beautiful card by Lynn Pratt that really motivated me to case it. Hope you like it to!
Happy Thursday!
