Freshly Exhausted!!

Evening All,
Well after dragging myself back to work this week and dealing with leaving my little one for extended periods of time I was trying to decompress and complete a few cards for a future stamp a stack a friend is having. With having less time to craft I try to be more efficient so I knew, sitting down that I had no idea for a layout so I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they did not disappoint, Check out this weeks sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

 

 

I used a base of Whisper White, a layer of Pistachio Pudding, another layer of Whisper White and a panel of the All is Calm DP. This paper is very elegant and makes card making a snap with the patterns. I used the sentiment from Homemade Holiday Photopolymer stamp set and punched it out with the Modern Label punch. A little of my favorite ribbon and I was done. Love it!

Try Stampin Challenge

Morning All,
Have some paperwork to do but wanted to update my blog with a card I made for Try Stamping on Tuesday's weekly challenge. Here is their sketch this week:

 

Their twist was to add a photo if you wished. I decided that I wanted to use the layout for a sympathy card I wanted to offer in a future class so I omitted the photo. Here is what I came up with:

 

 

I used a base of Soft Suede and layers of Early Espresso and Comfort Café to coordinate with the Very Vanilla. I used the hostess stamp set Simply Sketched and water colored the flower with my regals crayons and blended the colors with my blender pens (one of my favorite tools!). Another quick CASe

Hi All,
I wanted to share another rendition of the card I made last week but I used some different stamps and embossing folder. Kind of nice to see the different looks you can make! Anyway here it is:

 

I used the Decorative Dots Folder from Saleabration and used Betsy's Bloom's for the tag that I topped with the Tag Scallop Punch. A little gold bakers twine and I was done. Hope you enjoyed the day!

Just for fun!

Hi All,
In an effort to procrastinate doing some paperwork this morning I decided to make a card that I would like to do at a friends workshop. I wanted to play around with some of the "In Colors" for this year and the Saleabration DP. Here is what I came up with:

 

I used a base of Whisper White and added a layer of Basic Black and Pistachio Pudding (love that green!) that I ran through the scallop embossing folder. I used the new scallop tag topper and tied some of the Gold Bakers Twine. I used the Modern Label punch and stamped the Gorgeous Grunge background and used the sentiment from Simply Sketched (an awesome hostess set). A simple yet fun card!

SAS Get Well Card

Evening All,
Well after (another) eventful day at work I decided that I deserved a little unwinding time in my craft room. I knew that I needed a Get Well card for my Stamp a Stack so I got to work. Here is what I came up with, after a little consulting with my six year old step daughter!!

 

I used the very last of my Close to Cocoa that I had squirreled away, with a layer of Pool Party, some Comfort Café DP, a little bit of Pool Party ribbon and a brad made the panel "work" for me. I used my awesome "Thoughts and Prayers" set and versa marked the flowers on the Pool Party and then punched out the sentiment. Love how it came out! Course it was "helpful" to have a consultant!!

On a roll!!

Evening All,
Well I am rather proud of myself as I have been able to spend a little time each day for the past three days in my craft room! Always well worth it! I needed to come up with a clean and simple "Thank You" card for an upcoming Stamp a Stack that I am teaching. I decided I needed some "white space" so here is what I came up with:

 

I used a base of Whisper White, a layer of Tangerine Tango and a piece of Floral District DP that I felt added the "pop" of color I was looking for. I added some white Bakers Twine and used the Simply Sketched Hostess set for my sentiment. I like the way it came out! Have a great night!

A little motivation!

Evening All,
I had such a crazy day at work that I decided I needed to carve a little crafting time for myself tonight. I needed to make some Thank You cards for some of my wonderful students and found myself a little short. I was also a little short on inspiration so I went on over to the Friday Mashup and they had a great sketch and challenge:

 

 

Here's your Mashup Challenge:

1. Create a project with the "Sketch."
2. Create a project using "the theme of Time. "
3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "a theme of Time & the Sketch."

 

I decided that I wanted to stick to this great sketch and here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and some Comfort Café DP that I had squirreled away. I used the flower from Simply Sketched and colored it with my Blender Pens. I punched out my sentiment and I was done. It was nice to pull out some of my flowers for a change! Have a great night!

Becky's Card

Hi All,
I wanted to share a card that I will be making at a friends upcoming workshop. I shared the Halloween card not that long ago that I will be demonstrating and this is the card that all the guests will be making:

 

I was inspired by this weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches:

 



 

I used a base of Whisper White with some Smokey Slate and the awesome new Winter Frost DP as my layers. I stamped the poinsettia in my Silver Encore ink and fussy cut it out, mounted it on some dimensionals and added some rhinestones. The sentiment is from my Christmas Messages stamp set and I punched it out with my Modern Label punch. I took a few liberties with the sketch but I love how easily this came together. Father's Day

Morning All,
Up much earlier then I needed to be thanks to my crazy tabby!! So I thought I would post the card I made for my father for Father's Day. I wanted to do something a little different so I pulled out my Simply Scored and the Diagonal plate and went to town:

I decided to use my Medallion stamp after I had scored the card in two different directions added some Comfort Cafe to the background, sponged everything with Soft Suede and used my Modern Label punch with the saying from Well Scripted, canvas ribbon and I was done! I hope he likes it!

Two for one!

Hi All,
I finally got a chance to make a card I needed for a friend of mine who recently lost a relative. As usual I was stumped with where to start so I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they had another awesome sketch:

Now that I had my sketch I needed my colors so I went on over to the Pals Paper Arts and they had a great palette. 

                                                       

Here is what I came up with:

I used the Naturals White as my base, used the Mustard hounds tooth DP from the Howling

and Scaringbone DP (love the versatility!) on a later of Early Espresso. I decided to use the flower and jar from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and colored each flower with More Mustard and edged it slightly with Cajun Craze. A few pearls on the flowers and I was done. The sentiment came from the Thoughts and Prayers set. Great one to have on hand. Hope you have a great day!

Shadow Box

Hi All, 
I wanted to share my third card that I will be presenting at next week's stamp club. I had been seeing a number of "shadow boxes" on the web and wanted to try my hand at it. Check it out:

Using the Simply Scored made this a snap! I am in love with these cards! Here is what I used:

Stamps:           Just Believe

Cardstock:        Naturals White – 4 ¼ x 5 ½

                            Wisteria Wonder – 4 ¼ x 5 ½

                            First Edition – 1 x 5 ½”

Ink:                  Elegant Eggplant

                       

Embellishments: Simply Scored, 2 ½ circle punch, Modern Label punch, 3/18 naturals brads, Silver Foil Smooch Spray and sticky back pearls

Techniques: Score both ends of the cardstock at 4 ½ and 5”,

Stamp the Just  Believe in Elegant Eggplant and then spray with Silver Foil Smooch spray. Punch the circle out of the Wisteria Wonder in the center of the score lines. Adhere the two piece

of cardstock together with sticky Strip. Stamp off the leaves on the the DP and adhere to the front of the card placing the brad in the center.
