With Sympathy

Hi All,
I wanted to share a card I made for a dear co-worker who unfortunately just recently lost her mother this Summer. As I have stated before Sympathy cards are the most difficult for me to come up with. I was fortunate that the Stampin Queen's came up with another great sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

I used my Thoughts and Prayers set for the sentiment and En Francais for my background. I pulled out the last sheet of my Mellow Moss and layered it with some Close to Cocoa DP. I like the soft look of the card and hope it conveys the right message.

Wicked Cool Challenge!

Hi All,
I love it when I am able to be productive and actually complete most of my "to do" list! I had a goal of finishing my Great Aunt's Halloween cards (among many other things) this weekend and was very inspired by the sketch at Stampin Queen's Challenge:

Here is what I came up with:

I had a base of Whisper White,ran the Basic Black panel through the Striped Embossing Folder on the Big Shot, used some of my left over Night and Day retired DP and used some of the cool images from the "Wicked Cool" Halloween set. Added a white grosgrain ribbon and I was done. Hope she likes them!

Stampin Queens Challenge

Hi All,
I am very excited to share today's Halloween card! I had gone on over to Stampin Queen's Challenge and they had a great sketch:

When I saw this sketch I immediately imagined the images from Spooky Bingo Bits peeking out. So here they are:

I used some of my retired "Night and Day" DP, ran the Basic Grey paper through the Big Shot in the Stripes Embossing folder and placed a piece of Satin Ribbon on the bottom piece. Love the look and its easy peasy!  Thanks for stopping by!

Morning All (again!),
As much as I prefer the sunny days this rain gives me a reason to spend some "guilt free" time in my craft room. I had gone on over to Stampin Queens Blog and was really motivated by their sketch challenge:

I needed a third card for my stamp club next week and had a "block" for a design until I saw this sketch. This is what I came up with:

I am super happy with the result! I used the new set "Betsy's Blooms" for the bird, the Floral District DP and the new Daffodil Delight stitched ribbon (it is SO easy to work with!). Finally I used the two step Bird Punch for the leaves under the bird. 

Off to work on more household chores!

Stampin Queen's Challenge

Hi All,
Wow love having Daylight Savings back but hate losing an hour of my weekend! Anyway I realized that I need to get cracking on my Easter cards so thought I would check out the Stampin Queen's Blog and this is their sketch challenge:

I loved the idea of using some of my scraps from the Tea Party DP that Stampin Up used to carry! They worked perfectly for the eggs! Here is the rest of the recipe:
Paper: Tea Party DP (retired), So Saffron, and Naturals Ivory
Ink: So Saffron
Stamps: Well Scripted (sadly retired)
Punches: Decorative Label and the Small Oval
Other: Big Shot and Lattice Embossing Folder and Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon.

Stampin Queen Challenge #23

Morning All,
Quick post before I go run some errands. I wanted to complete the Stampin Queen's Challenge #23 as I had accomplished #22. Here is that sketch:

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Sending Love DP (retired)
Ink: Pretty  in Pink
Stamp Set: Well Scripted (sadly retired)
Embellishments: Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon and Very Vanilla 5/16 Neutral Brads
Punch: 2 1/5" Circle, 2 3/8 Scallop Circle and 1 3/4 Circle

Late Night Posting!!

I guess this "counts" as a Friday post even though its 11:30!! Wow! Busy but great day! Had a fantastic night hosting a stamp a stack for my rehab co-workers and was so "awake" that I thought I would finish a card for the Stampin Queen's Challenge. They had two sketches due to some technical difficulties. I thought I would start with:

It was right up my alley! Here is what I came up with:

I really like how it came out! Here is what I used:
Paper: Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Blueberry Crisp DP (retired) and Naturals Ivory cardstock
Ink: Crumb Cake and Not Quite Navy
Stamp Set: Thoughts and Prayer
Embellishments: Big Shot and Polka Dots embossing folder, Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, Victorian Lace Ribbon and Dimensionals.
Punches: Decorative Label

SQSC#20 and Color Throwdown #173

Morning all,
Quick post before finishing the house chores and head to the beach with my horse :).Still picking away at my Valentines so I went on over to the Color Throw Down Blog and they  had some great colors to work with:

Now that I had my colors I needed a sketch so I went on over to the Stampin Queens sketch and really liked the challenge:

                                           

I mashed the two challenges together and here is what I came up with:

Stampin Queens Challenge #19

Morning All,
Well trying to get myself back into a routine! Ick. So before I start the house cleaning I started making my Valentines. So for inspiration I went on over to the Stampin Queens sketch challenge blog and this is their sketch of the week:

I really liked the layout. Here is what I came up with:

As usual I had to incorporate gold embossing powder with the letters and I had to use the Sending Love DP that is now retired. Some of my all time fav paper! I have a "stash" set aside that I picked up during last years clearance blitz. This years is going on until January 5th so click here to check out this years deals.
