Pals Paper Arts

Morning All,
I wanted to share a card I was finally able to make after being delayed with the stomach bug hitting the house! Absolutely NO fun!! I had needed a card for a Get Well/Sympathy card all occasion stamp a stack that I was running and knew the colors I wanted to use but had no idea as to layout. Well last night I had a chance to go on over to Pals Paper Arts and they had this great sketch:
PPA228 Nov 20

I loved the layout and decided to rotate it for my needs. Here is what I came up with:

I used  base of Crisp Cantaloupe, layers of Hello Honey, Baked Brown Sugar and Lullaby DP. I ran the Brown Sugar through my scallop EF and tied from thick Bakers Twine in Crisp Cantaloupe around the Hello Honey strip. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs. Very simple design that was very easy to work with!
Thanks for stopping by!

The Polar Express!

Hi All,
Well on this rainy day in New England I spent the day catching up on some crafting! I am going to spend some time at my friends this coming weekend completing some Christmas cards. Since I was in the spirit I decided to plan another card for a potential class after I saw the sketch over at Pals Paper Arts.
PPA224 Oct 16

Loved the clean lines! Here is what I came up with:

I finally got a chance to play with my Traveler stamp set. I heat embossed the train in homage to the Polar Express story and used the gorgeous new All is Calm DP. I am a huge fan of using shades of blue with Christmas cards and combining them with silver. I also used the new Lost Lagoon ribbon available in the new Holiday Catalog! LOVE this color! I used the sentiment from Petite Pairs. I will definitely have to use this card at an upcoming class!
Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Mash Up on a Sunday

Morning All,
I wanted to share another one of my cards that I made this weekend. I had gone on over to Friday Mash Up and they had a great sketch:

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project using the "Sketch".
  • Create a project using " an assortment of different Pattern Papers".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project with the "Sketch using different pattern papers".
I decided to "mash it up" and here is what I came up with:

I love pinks and browns together and this card was no exception! I used my one inch punch on a layer of Very Vanilla and Early Espresso for the patterned background and the sentiment came from Petite Pairs. I do love the retired lace ribbon but, of course, Stampin Up had a great option in the new catty!! Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Wisteria Wonder, a layer of Crushed Curry and some different pieces of Afternoon Picnic DP. I used the now retired Victorian lace ribbon and the sentiment was some Petite Pairs. Love the cheerful colors! Hope she likes these!

Freshly Made Birthday!

Evening All,
I decided I needed to spend some time crafting this evening so I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they had a great sketch:
I decided I wanted to focus on some of my more "Spring like" DP and leave the stamping to a minimum. Here is what I came up with:

I used the Petite Pairs stamp set for the sentiment, a little bit of retired ribbon and some Cottage Wall DP that I had squirreled away and I was done! Love the colors and how easily it came together! Thanks for stopping by!

A Fancy Fold CASe

Evening All,
I wanted to share a card I made at club the other night that I CASed from Mary Fish over at Stampin Pretty. She has a lot of great  one minute "to WOW" videos and I was taken by her fancy fold card. Here is my interpretation:

I chose to use the Thoughts and Prayers and Petite Pairs Stamp Sets. I also used the Sweet Sorbet DP on both of my panels. I decided to watermark the inside of my card with Versa Mark as I really like the softer look and tied the card with Satin Ribbon. Love it! Make sure you check out her blog!

Have a great night!

Try Stamping!

Evening All,
I was able to sneak a little time to myself tonight and make another card for my upcoming class. I had gone on over to Try Stamping on Tuesday and they had a great sketch:

I changed up the stripes a little bit and here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Pool Party (love that blue!!) and added a layer of Smokey Slate and Basic Grey. I used the Winter Frost DP for the main panel and heat embossed the tree from Lovely as a Tree in Silver Glitter. I added the silver ribbon from the Christmas mini and Rhinestones for some added bling. Love the sparkle! Hope you have a great night!

Here is what I came up with:

I am in love with the Winter Frost DP! I think it looks great glued on the Silver Foil paper along with the Silver Encore ink. Hope club loves it!

Stamp a Stack

Hi All,
Thought I would share another card that I have ready for my upcoming Stamp a Stack class. I needed another sketch (ever have one of those weeks??) and, even though this isnt a Christmas Stamp a Stack I checked out Always Playing with Paper and really loved the sketch:

I thought that it was perfect for the design I wanted. Here is what I did with it:

I used a base of Baja Breeze and, of course, used my Everyday Enchantment for the DP. I heat embossed the flower from Fresh Vintage and added the sentiment from Petite Pairs. Check out always playing with paper, as its a great site for inspriation!
Thanks for stopping by!

New Challenge!

Hi All,
I really spent some quality time (in between park visits!) yesterday in my stamp room. I have been trying to get gifts done as well as some stamp a stack cards I need for upcoming classes. I decided to offer another vintage themed class and needed a jumping off point to design some of the cards. Luckily I happened across a new (to me) challenge site; "Cas Colours and Sketches" blogspot. This was there sketch for the week:

Loved the sketch! Here is what I came up with:

Sorry about the tint, just noticed that. The card base is actually Bashful Blue with some of my all time favorite DP Everyday Enchantment. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to pop out a window and then used the Birthday Wishes sentiment from Petite Pairs. A few Rhinestones for "bling" and I was happy! Have a good one!

Mojo Monday on a Tuesday

Hi All,
Got home from work today and decided that I would post a card I made based on the sketch over at Mojo Monday :

As I am quickly running out of time (believe it or not!) to make my relatives Christmas cards I thought I should get a move on and add to the meager collection I have been able to make.

Here is what I came up with:
I am awaiting some of my new toys from the Holiday Mini and thought I would use some old favorites before playing with the new! I used the Festival of Prints DP with layers of Cherry Cobbler that had been run through the Tulips EF and some Lucky Limeade ribbon I had. The stocking is from the now retired Open Sleigh and the greeting is from Petite Pairs. Now I can check another one off my list! Have a great day!\

Wild Flower Meadow and other interesting items!

Morning All,

Wanted to post this yesterday but we had a tornado warning in the afternoon and was a bit distracted!! It was a bit crazy but no tornado thank goodness! Anyway I need some thank you cards and was playing around with my Wild Flower Meadow bundle and here is what I came up with:
I also used the Petite Pairs for my sentiment. I inked the stamp in white craft ink, dried it and colored it with markers giving it a little time to dry so I could add some depth. Then I placed it on a piece of Afternoon Picnic DP and mounted it on a half sheet of the new "In Color" Crisp Cantaloupe after running it through the embossing folder. A very fun set!!

Wild Flower Meadow

Hi All,
Thought I would share a card I made with one of my new stamp sets Wild Flower Meadow. Great stamp on its own but I was very happy to see that it had a coordinating embossing folder! Love it! Anyway check it out:

I also finally got a chance to play around with the new In Colors too! Love the Coastal Cabana! I hand colored the stamp then ran the card card front through the folder which "pops" up the flowers! Love it!! Added a quick sentiment from Petite Pairs and I was finally ready to bond with my fans and couch. Have a great night!

June Thank You's

Morning All,
I wanted to share my Thank You card that I made for June:
As you can see I stuck with my beach theme and used the "By the Shore" set again after scoring the base with my Simply Scored to create the wavy sand theme. I added a sentiment from the Petite Pairs set and after cutting out my two shells and adding a little "bling" I was done! Have a great day!

Summer time!

Hi All,
I wanted to post a picture of a card I was able to finish today using one of my "new to me" sets By the Shore. Love this set and was thrilled to see that it carried over!!
In addition to the By the Shore set I used Petite Pairs as the sale price was to good to pass up!! I ran the new "in color" Coastal Cabana through the Wood Grain EF for the look of water and then used my Simply Scored for ripples in the sand, then sponged the sand with Crumb Cake ink, heat embossed all the cool shells and starfish and cut them out, popping a few out for depth with dimensionals. Added some left over twine and the sentiment with the Vintage Trinket with the 7/16 scallop punch. Love the rustic look. I may modify this and hang them around my office for Summer decor! Love making some of my own decorations!
Thanks for stopping by!
