Still Playing with Paper!!

Morning All,
I wanted to share a card that I actually started a few days ago. Its great I can walk away and come back to it when I have a minute, not sure how long I'll be able to do that when the new member of the family arrives!! Anyway I had gone on over to Always Playing with Paper and they had a great sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

I used Raspberry Ripple as a base, with Basic Black and a layer of Primrose Petals Coordinations Cardstock that I had run through the stripped embossing folder. I decided to use the Betsy's Blooms as my stamp set and then the sentiment from the Simply Sketched hostess set. A little white Bakers Twine and I was done. Love the contrast! Have a great day!

On a roll!

Morning All,
Well I decided that as I was on a "sort of" vacation this week that I would make sure I had a little crafting time! As Stampin Up has just released its retirement list I knew that I wanted to use some of my favorites in the next few weeks for my projects. I, of course, needed a great sketch. So I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and this is their great sketch:

And here is what I created:

I used one of my all time favorite background stamps, Sunflower and heat embossed it in my favorite color; pewter. I love both and am stocking up this week with SU's free shipping on the Pewter embossing powder as its my "go to" color! I ran the Coastal Cabana through my lattice folder (another retiring item that adds a great feel to projects!) and then stamped the sunflower again in Crumb Cake and placed it on a panel of Afternoon Picnic DP (also leaving us in June!). I added an antique brad and popped it up on dimensionals after heat embossing the sentiment from Loving Thoughts (another great retiring set). Loved this sketch and plan on using it again! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Morning All and Happy Easter!!
I thought I would share the Easter cards that I made for my step children. I used some of my Diez to make the basic shapes and had some fun decorating them. Check them out:

I used my Oval Die to make the eggs and Top Note Die to make the bunny. I used some of left over DP as they made perfect stripes. Simple and fun! Hope you have a great holiday!

    Freshly Made Thank You

    Hi All,
I wanted to share a "Thank You" card that I made for a friend who forwarded me a TON of baby clothes! I was at a loss for a sketch so I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and of course they did not disappoint. Here is their sketch:

I really loved this layout and know that I will use it again! Here is what I came up with:

I used some of my Sweet Sorbet DP and a carriage stamp my friend loaned me. I heat embossed the carriage and stamped the sentiment using my retired Short and Sweet set. I popped it up on a dimensional and really love the way it came out! Thanks for stopping by!

    Another Freshly Made Challenge

    Evening All,
After a very LONG week I decided that I should spend a little time crafting to decompress. So I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they another fabulous sketch:
I needed a few "Thank You" cards so here is what I came up with:

I found a few pieces of Baja Breeze that I had "squirreled" away, which went well with the Comfort Café DP. I used one of my all time favorite retired sentiment sets, "Short and Sweet". A little seam binding and I was done. I definitely feel a bit better!
    Have a great night!

    Try Stampin Challenge

    Morning All,
Have some paperwork to do but wanted to update my blog with a card I made for Try Stamping on Tuesday's weekly challenge. Here is their sketch this week:

Their twist was to add a photo if you wished. I decided that I wanted to use the layout for a sympathy card I wanted to offer in a future class so I omitted the photo. Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Soft Suede and layers of Early Espresso and Comfort Café to coordinate with the Very Vanilla. I used the hostess stamp set Simply Sketched and water colored the flower with my regals crayons and blended the colors with my blender pens (one of my favorite tools!). A little Early Espresso ribbon and I was done! Thanks for stopping by!

    Freshly Made Birthday!

    Evening All,
I decided I needed to spend some time crafting this evening so I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they had a great sketch:
I decided I wanted to focus on some of my more "Spring like" DP and leave the stamping to a minimum. Here is what I came up with:

I used the Petite Pairs stamp set for the sentiment, a little bit of retired ribbon and some Cottage Wall DP that I had squirreled away and I was done! Love the colors and how easily it came together! Thanks for stopping by!
