A little birthday fun!

Evening All,
I wanted to share some cards I made for my friends' mothers' birthday celebration. She needed some extra and figured I could help and after these past few days filled with surgery and the stomach bug I was ready for a little distraction! I went on over to Try Stamping on Tuesday blog and they had a great sketch:

They had a great twist "Something that makes you happy". Well when doesn't a birthday card make you happy?? So here is my take:

I love the now retired "Sunflower" stamp (they are a happy flower) and I paired it with the sentiment from the newly retired Simple Sketched hostess set. I used a base of Naturals white, some More Mustard that I ran through my Lattice EF and some pieces of Howlstooth and Scaringbone DP that I hung onto. I cut out the image using my Labels Framelits and I was done!
Hope she likes them!

Still Playing with Paper!!

Morning All,
I wanted to share a card that I actually started a few days ago. Its great I can walk away and come back to it when I have a minute, not sure how long I'll be able to do that when the new member of the family arrives!! Anyway I had gone on over to Always Playing with Paper and they had a great sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

I used Raspberry Ripple as a base, with Basic Black and a layer of Primrose Petals Coordinations Cardstock that I had run through the stripped embossing folder. I decided to use the Betsy's Blooms as my stamp set and then the sentiment from the Simply Sketched hostess set. A little white Bakers Twine and I was done. Love the contrast! Have a great day!

Try Stampin Challenge

Morning All,
Have some paperwork to do but wanted to update my blog with a card I made for Try Stamping on Tuesday's weekly challenge. Here is their sketch this week:

Their twist was to add a photo if you wished. I decided that I wanted to use the layout for a sympathy card I wanted to offer in a future class so I omitted the photo. Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Soft Suede and layers of Early Espresso and Comfort Café to coordinate with the Very Vanilla. I used the hostess stamp set Simply Sketched and water colored the flower with my regals crayons and blended the colors with my blender pens (one of my favorite tools!). A little Early Espresso ribbon and I was done! Thanks for stopping by!

Try Stamping on Tuesday 160

Evening All,
Sorry for the little hiatus! Been a bit busy, as usual! Anyway I thought I should take a few minutes in my craft room and play along with Try Stamping on Tuesday's  challenge of the day. Check out their great sketch:

They added a cool twist of making it "masculine". Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Naturals White, a layer of Soft Suede and added a layer of some Comfort Café DP. I used my favorite stand by set of Lovely as a Tree and the sentiment came from the hostess set Simply Sketched. I love the clean look! Hope you have a great night!

Another quick CASe

Hi All,
I wanted to share another rendition of the card I made last week but I used some different stamps and embossing folder. Kind of nice to see the different looks you can make! Anyway here it is:

I used the Decorative Dots Folder from Saleabration and used Betsy's Bloom's for the tag that I topped with the Tag Scallop Punch. A little gold bakers twine and I was done. Hope you enjoyed the day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Cased myself!

Evening All,
I wanted to share a card I made that is actually a CASe of a card I made on my March 2nd post. I am hoping to do a workshop for a friend and she was interested in having a card to make that was a bit brighter then that one. Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Daffodil Delight, a panel of Basic Black and then a panel of Raspberry Ripple that I had run through the scallop embossing folder. I again used the Gorgeous Grunge set (as its awesome) on my tag which I punched out the with scallop tag topped punch and the Simply Sketched hostess set for the sentiment. A little Gold Bakers Twine and I was done! Hope she likes it!
Have a good night!

Just for fun!

Hi All,
In an effort to procrastinate doing some paperwork this morning I decided to make a card that I would like to do at a friends workshop. I wanted to play around with some of the "In Colors" for this year and the Saleabration DP. Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Whisper White and added a layer of Basic Black and Pistachio Pudding (love that green!) that I ran through the scallop embossing folder. I used the new scallop tag topper and tied some of the Gold Bakers Twine. I used the Modern Label punch and stamped the Gorgeous Grunge background and used the sentiment from Simply Sketched (an awesome hostess set). A simple yet fun card!
Thanks for stopping by!

New Toys!

Hi All,
I made this card the other day out of some of my new toys from Saleabration and the new mini catalog and thought I would share, Here is the card:

And here it is with the tag out:

I used this years new in colors Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding with the new Sweet Sorbet DP that you can chose free from Saleabration. I ran the Pistachio panel through the Scallops embossing folder (really love it!!) and added the new gold bakers twine to the tag and DP panel. I used the Tag Topper Punch on the 2x4" tag and stamped it with the in colors using the Gorgeous Grunge set and heat embossed the saying I chose From The Heart set in gold. Love the effect! Hope you have a great day!

On a roll!!

Evening All,
Well I am rather proud of myself as I have been able to spend a little time each day for the past three days in my craft room! Always well worth it! I needed to come up with a clean and simple "Thank You" card for an upcoming Stamp a Stack that I am teaching. I decided I needed some "white space" so here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Whisper White, a layer of Tangerine Tango and a piece of Floral District DP that I felt added the "pop" of color I was looking for. I added some white Bakers Twine and used the Simply Sketched Hostess set for my sentiment. I like the way it came out! Have a great night!

A little motivation!

Evening All,
I had such a crazy day at work that I decided I needed to carve a little crafting time for myself tonight. I needed to make some Thank You cards for some of my wonderful students and found myself a little short. I was also a little short on inspiration so I went on over to the Friday Mashup and they had a great sketch and challenge:

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with the "Sketch."
  2. Create a project using "the theme of Time. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "a theme of Time & the Sketch."

I decided that I wanted to stick to this great sketch and here is what I came up with:
I used a base of Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and some Comfort Café DP that I had squirreled away. I used the flower from Simply Sketched and colored it with my Blender Pens. I punched out my sentiment and I was done. It was nice to pull out some of my flowers for a change! Have a great night!

A little more caught up!

Hi All,
Well with the snow I was canceled from school and was able to make my second card for my club. I wanted some cheerful color and, after all the Christmas cards, wanted to see some flowers. Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Wisteria Wonder, Basic Black and the Afternoon Picnic DP. On the Very Vanilla panel I stamped the background with my Gorgeous Grunge and then stamped the flower image from the Simply Sketched Hostess set. Some Wisteria Wonder Twine and dots and I was done, Thanks for stopping by!

Hi All,
I wanted to quickly share my Thank You cards that I made for my stamp club members. I wasn't "feeling" pumpkins or leaves. I really just wanted a thank you card that had some Fall colors but you could use when ever. Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Daffodil Delight and the stamp set Simply Sketched, which I colored with my watercolor crayons and blender pens.I love this stamp set, great images and sentiments!  Hope they love them!

Freshly Made Mixture

Hi All,
I wanted to share another card I made this week. I had been in need of a sympathy card for a friend and needed a place to start. So I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and it was their 100th sketch and it is pretty inspiring. Check it out:

I used a mixture of retired and new products AND I even tried some water coloring. Anyone who knows me knows that of all the techniques out there that's one that is a little tough for me!! Here is my attempt:

I used some retired Certainly Celery and Everyday Enchantment DP and retired ribbon I had. I then used the Simple Sketched Hostess set from the the new catty. I also ran a piece of Crumb Cake through the Lattice folder. Finally I added some soft subtles dots to the top after water coloring with Aqua painters. Not bad if I do say so myself! Hope it brings a smile to her face!
Have a great day!
