Try Stamping!

Evening All,
I was able to sneak a little time to myself tonight and make another card for my upcoming class. I had gone on over to Try Stamping on Tuesday and they had a great sketch:

I changed up the stripes a little bit and here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Pool Party (love that blue!!) and added a layer of Smokey Slate and Basic Grey. I used the Winter Frost DP for the main panel and heat embossed the tree from Lovely as a Tree in Silver Glitter. I added the silver ribbon from the Christmas mini and Rhinestones for some added bling. Love the sparkle! Hope you have a great night!

Freshly Made Mixture

Hi All,
I wanted to share another card I made this week. I had been in need of a sympathy card for a friend and needed a place to start. So I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and it was their 100th sketch and it is pretty inspiring. Check it out:

I used a mixture of retired and new products AND I even tried some water coloring. Anyone who knows me knows that of all the techniques out there that's one that is a little tough for me!! Here is my attempt:

I used some retired Certainly Celery and Everyday Enchantment DP and retired ribbon I had. I then used the Simple Sketched Hostess set from the the new catty. I also ran a piece of Crumb Cake through the Lattice folder. Finally I added some soft subtles dots to the top after water coloring with Aqua painters. Not bad if I do say so myself! Hope it brings a smile to her face!
Have a great day!

A little Christmas in August

Hi All,
After yet another long day at work thought I would unwind and post a card I made for my Holiday Stamp a Stack. I wanted a clean and simple card for my final option so I used the Big Shot and Northern Flurry folder. Check it out:
I hope you can see the shine from the silver encore ink that Stampin Up now has! I am addicted! The cottage is from Christmas Lodge and my sentiment is from Short and Sweet. A few rhinestones and I was done. Have a great day!

Freshly Made Christmas!

Morning All,
Thought I would post a card I was inspired to make by this great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. Check it out:

I realized I needed to get moving on making my Great Aunt her Christmas cards so here is what I came up with:

I had some perfect squares already cut from the Holly Berry DP, which worked perfectly for the sketch. I put the sentiment in the center and used my old favorite Short and Sweet and I was done! Love when a card comes together so quickly! Have a great day!

Wild Flower Meadow and other interesting items!

Morning All,

Wanted to post this yesterday but we had a tornado warning in the afternoon and was a bit distracted!! It was a bit crazy but no tornado thank goodness! Anyway I need some thank you cards and was playing around with my Wild Flower Meadow bundle and here is what I came up with:
I also used the Petite Pairs for my sentiment. I inked the stamp in white craft ink, dried it and colored it with markers giving it a little time to dry so I could add some depth. Then I placed it on a piece of Afternoon Picnic DP and mounted it on a half sheet of the new "In Color" Crisp Cantaloupe after running it through the embossing folder. A very fun set!!

I also wanted to share a great promo that Stampin Up is offering this month!!

Wild Flower Meadow

Hi All,
Thought I would share a card I made with one of my new stamp sets Wild Flower Meadow. Great stamp on its own but I was very happy to see that it had a coordinating embossing folder! Love it! Anyway check it out:

I also finally got a chance to play around with the new In Colors too! Love the Coastal Cabana! I hand colored the stamp then ran the card card front through the folder which "pops" up the flowers! Love it!! Added a quick sentiment from Petite Pairs and I was finally ready to bond with my fans and couch. Have a great night!

Paper Players Challenge

Hi All,
I decided to take a little break from Halloween cards and work on my Great Aunt's Thanksgiving cards. I was inspired by the great sketch at the Paper Players Blog:
Loved the "clean" sketch. Here is what I came up with:
I used a base of Very Vanilla, a layer of Chocolate Chip that I ran through the Lattice Folder on the Big Shot and some left over (and very coveted) retired Spice Cake DP. I made the pumpkin using my large oval and Build a Bird punch. I added a little depth by sponging Cajun Craze ink on the sides of the pumpkin.
Thanks for stopping by!
