Pals Paper Arts Challenge

Hi All,
I made it through my first day of the school year and dragged myself home. I decided that I needed a little stamping time and decided to focus on my grandmothers Thanksgiving card so I went on over to Pals Paper Arts for some inspiration and they had it! Check out the sketch:

I loved the look and here is what I came up with:
I used a base of More Mustard, some of the beautiful Spice Cake DP and the Full of Blessings stamp set that I heat embossed in Early Espresso and colored with my blender pens. A few pearls and I was done. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS 39

Morning All,
Well its my last day of "freedom" before I go back to school tomorrow and I wanted to get a few things off my "to do" list. I still had to make my Grandmother's Halloween cards. So I went on over to CAS Colours and Sketches blogspot and they had a great sketch:

I decided to change the size and not make it a perfect square. Here is my slightly modified card:

I water marked the background with the bats from "Wicked Cool" and then heat embossed the bats on the center DP and the sentiment. Hope she likes it!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Mixture

Hi All,
I wanted to share another card I made this week. I had been in need of a sympathy card for a friend and needed a place to start. So I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and it was their 100th sketch and it is pretty inspiring. Check it out:

I used a mixture of retired and new products AND I even tried some water coloring. Anyone who knows me knows that of all the techniques out there that's one that is a little tough for me!! Here is my attempt:

I used some retired Certainly Celery and Everyday Enchantment DP and retired ribbon I had. I then used the Simple Sketched Hostess set from the the new catty. I also ran a piece of Crumb Cake through the Lattice folder. Finally I added some soft subtles dots to the top after water coloring with Aqua painters. Not bad if I do say so myself! Hope it brings a smile to her face!
Have a great day!

A little Christmas in August

Hi All,
After yet another long day at work thought I would unwind and post a card I made for my Holiday Stamp a Stack. I wanted a clean and simple card for my final option so I used the Big Shot and Northern Flurry folder. Check it out:
I hope you can see the shine from the silver encore ink that Stampin Up now has! I am addicted! The cottage is from Christmas Lodge and my sentiment is from Short and Sweet. A few rhinestones and I was done. Have a great day!

Love how it looks on the Grey! I punched out the sentiment from the same set and edged it in silver added a little ribbon and I was done! Have a great day!

Freshly Made Halloween

Hi All,
Had an unexpected day off so trying to get things done around here, you know cleaning, organizing and of course crafting! Well I am having a Holiday Mini Class at the end of the month where I will be presenting two cards and I really wanted a Halloween card for one of the cards but I needed a layout. I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches  and they did not disappoint:

Loved the layout but decided to rotate it. Here is what I came up with:

I used the new Halloween Happiness Stamp and some Rhinestones for eyes and, of course, I had to use the owl punch to make the ghosts! Love them! Have a great day!

Stamp a Stack

Hi All,
Thought I would share another card that I have ready for my upcoming Stamp a Stack class. I needed another sketch (ever have one of those weeks??) and, even though this isnt a Christmas Stamp a Stack I checked out Always Playing with Paper and really loved the sketch:

I thought that it was perfect for the design I wanted. Here is what I did with it:

I used a base of Baja Breeze and, of course, used my Everyday Enchantment for the DP. I heat embossed the flower from Fresh Vintage and added the sentiment from Petite Pairs. Check out always playing with paper, as its a great site for inspriation!
Thanks for stopping by!

New Challenge!

Hi All,
I really spent some quality time (in between park visits!) yesterday in my stamp room. I have been trying to get gifts done as well as some stamp a stack cards I need for upcoming classes. I decided to offer another vintage themed class and needed a jumping off point to design some of the cards. Luckily I happened across a new (to me) challenge site; "Cas Colours and Sketches" blogspot. This was there sketch for the week:

Loved the sketch! Here is what I came up with:

Sorry about the tint, just noticed that. The card base is actually Bashful Blue with some of my all time favorite DP Everyday Enchantment. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to pop out a window and then used the Birthday Wishes sentiment from Petite Pairs. A few Rhinestones for "bling" and I was happy! Have a good one!

"Working on it" seems to be the theme of my day! Finally got around to finishing my Great Aunts Thanksgiving cards using some new products from the Holiday Mini and old stuff from the old Holiday Mini AND cleaned my craft room/office!! Gotta love Stampin Up you can always count on great products for the holidays! Anyway I needed a design so I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they had another awesome sketch:
Here's what I came up with:

I used the expressions thinlits for the awesome greeting on the front, the howlstooth and scaringbone DP as a background and heat embossed the wreath from the Full of Blessings stamp set and colored with my blender pens. I hope she likes the card!
Have a great day!

Old and New

Hi All,
Got home after another long commute and decided that I needed a "crafting" break before I set off to see the horse. So I set off to design my Great Aunt's Halloween cards. I decided to use some of my Howlstooth and Scaringbone DP, combine it with the Frightening Feline stamp with the new Black Glitter! Love it!
I hope you can see the glitter sparkle! I added the rhinestones for the eyes and corner effect, ribbon across the DP and a sentiment from the Spooky Bingo Bits set and I was done. Hope she likes it have a great day!

New Halloween Toys

Hi All,
I finally got a chance to craft a bunch of Halloween cards for myself yesterday and wanted to share my design as well as some of the new items that I used from the Holiday Mini! I am a BIG fan of Halloween and loved the single stamp "Halloween Happiness" from the mini! I also really liked the idea of using the black and orange glitter. I have to let you in on a secret, I have never used the Heat and Stick powder even though I have had some for awhile and thought now would be a good time to use it!

I love the retired howlstooth and scaringbone paper and decided it was perfect to use for my personal Halloween cards. Lord knows I save every scrap of my DP to use for all my projects! I tried to get you all a closer look so you can see the glitter. I thought it was pretty cute!

I cant believe all the projects I have left to do! My "to do" list always seems to get longer and not shorter! Though I have to admit that I love to add to my crafting list! Have a great day!

New Toys!

Morning All,
I finally had a chance to "play" with some of the new gadgets from the Holiday mini!! Love them!! I am in LOVE with the Winter Frost paper stack! Perfect for cards! I used the new Expressions Thinlits Dies with the Silver Foil Sheets for a fresh color mix:

I cut the top portion of the card a little short to add another coordinating piece of DP with the Frosted Finished Embellishments on the inside of the card and used the new 1/8" Silver Ribbon on the edges. I love the silver and Pool Party together. I really like the fresh color palettes in this holiday catty! Hope your enjoying the day!
