Stocking Sneak Peek!

Finally my aspirin is making some progress towards the migraine so thought I would post the project I was making while I was in N.H.. Check out these cuties! I know my carpet is a horrible background but wanted a neutral backdrop so the holiday colors would show through. These are made using the new Stocking Die for the Big Shot! I used our wonderful fabric "Deck the Halls" and played around with how to fold the top "cuff". I love that I can use this for small gifts, gift card holders and to make a great scrapbooking page!
Hope your having a good week!

Another sneek peek card!

Hi all,
Quick post tonight. I did another Thanksgiving card for another relative to send and I used that wonderful new DP "Spice Cake"!! Love that combined with the DP First Edition with the leaves from French Foliage stamped on it in Soft Suede, More Mustard, and the gorgeous new "Pool Party!". Course as I look at this one (I did ten for my great aunt to send out) I realize that I didn't orient the sticky back pearl on the right so well!! Ah well its the personal touches right!!??

New DP!!

Hope everyone is weathering "Irene" ok! I am in a card making marathon! I figured, in case I do lose power later with the winds, I would post this one. This is a Thanksgiving card I am making for a relative. This card features the "Sunflower" background stamp colored with the watercolor pencils and gamsol and one of the butterflies from the stamp set "Kindness Matters". I cut out the flower and butterfly so that the beautiful new DP "Spice Cake" can really show through! I love the combo of the warm colors with the cooler new color "Pool Party".
Hopefully I will be able to post more projects later if the weather co-operates!

"Ghosting"

Evening All!!
I know I promised a "sneak peek", but am a bit bushed with preparing the farm for "Irene"! Triple ICK! So anyway I thought I would share a card I did in my 5 techniques/1 stamp set class. This class was A LOT of fun!! For that class I focused on the "Just Believe" stamp set. On this card the technique is called "ghosting". Awesome technique!! You stamp the image in a lighter ink (in my case Crumb cake) than use the Stamp-a-ma-jg and align slightly down and to the right in a darker ink (Not Quite Navy).
Hope everyone is ready for the rain and winds!!

ps would love a comment or any feedback!! :)

My few days of peace and quiet!!! Sort of..

Ok no card pic today, but had to showcase this image from very early am! So pretty! The lake was like glass and a loon family (hence not that quiet, man they have a set of pipes!) playing at the end of the dock. I did play a little with my some of my new items from the Holiday Mini! Totally fun fun fun stuff! Will post tomorrow as long as my storm prep is done! Nothing like the "calm before the storm!"

August "Thank you's"

Hi All, A quick post before I hit the "lake house". These are my "Thank you" notes for my stamp club this month. I used the "rock and roll" technique. You ink the butterfly in a light colored ink and than rock and roll the edges in a darker ink. The butterfly is from the Strength and Hope set is available only through the end of this month with $2 per set going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The flower is from the "Flower Fancy" stamp set. Also, I had a problem with my comment settings and I believe it is now fixed.
Thanks! Karin

Sunflower

Well I have to admit that when I started this blog I was thinking that I would post at least once a week, but this week I have to much to share! I was thinking that I would share something I have done with my stamp club, but after making this card this evening I just had to post it. The background stamp "Sunflower" and set "Kindness Matters" (so true) just came and I just love the combo!! Was in a Fall kinda mood and was sad the deer had eaten almost all of my giant sunflowers so I made myself one!! I used the Stampin Up watercolor pencils with Gamsol and that really helped give the color and extra special "pop"!! Kept the butterflies in Early Expresso to keep the focal point the sunflower. Loved using the coordinating Bakers Twine and mini clothespin with the butterfly!! Thanks for stopping in!

July "Thank you" notes

Evening All,
Wanted to do a quick post before I hit the "hay" and no I am not going out the feed right at the moment (few hours maybe!!). Ok 'nuff pony humor. I just wanted to share my cute (or so I think) "Thank You" notes that I gave to my monthly stamp club members in July. The stamp club members are neighbors and friends who come once a month to my place and we do a few techniques, snack and "gab" for a bit! I always like to include a personal thank you with everyone's order. These notes are easy to make and are all cut to 3"x6" scored at 3" and folded. I did the Stained Glass technique (check my earlier post) and used the fabulous "Flower Fest" stamp set perfect for this technique! I also added a sentiment from my "go to" stamp set "Short and Sweet".
Have a good night!

Stained Glass!

Hey!
After a fun but humid day riding, hitting the gym and my cute 4 year old nephews b-day party I thought I would post one of my favorite cards of the Summer! I love love love the Flower Fest set and am thrilled that set carried over to the new catty! This set is awesome for the Stained Glass technique! So pretty especially with the new 2011 in-colors!! Recipe is as follows:
Stamps:           Flower Fest and Short and Sweet

Card stock:        Whisper White – half sheet
                          Wisteria Wonder 5 x 4
                         Vellum Card stock 4 ¼ x 3 ½

Embellishments:  White Embossing powder, heat tool, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and White organza Ribbon.

Markers:           Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Island Indigo
Techniques:     Emboss the Wisteria wonder sheet through the
Big Shot with the Polka Dot embossing Folder and adhere to the
white card front. Heat emboss the flower with white embossing
power and turn the vellum over and color in the flowers for a
“stained glass” look. Adhere with dimensionals after tying a knot
in the white ribbon. Stamp your greeting, punch out and adhere.

My First Post!!!

Hi All!!
Well I started developing this blog back in June and have finally decided to "give it a go!" I am NOT the most technical person but I love the idea of sharing some of my creations, as I have been so inspired by the creations other people have come up with! Well this card was fun to do and uses my current, favorite designer paper called First Edition and a fantastic background stamp called "Medallion". The "recipe" is as follows:

Medallion Card

Card stock:        Naturals White – half sheet
                         DP First Edition  4.5”x3 ¾”
                        3 pieces Chocolate Chip 4x1 ¾”

Ink:  Chocolate Chip

Embellishments:  Antique Brad, Sticky Strip, Log Cabin Smooch and paper trimmer.

Techniques:     Stamp the medallion on the DP, spray with the smooch spray and
than cut into three 1 ½” pieces. Adhere to the three pieces of chocolate chip with the
middle piece having the brad at its center. Use sticky strip to adhere the center
piece.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my blog!!
