Pals Paper Arts

Morning All,
I wanted to share a card I was finally able to make after being delayed with the stomach bug hitting the house! Absolutely NO fun!! I had needed a card for a Get Well/Sympathy card all occasion stamp a stack that I was running and knew the colors I wanted to use but had no idea as to layout. Well last night I had a chance to go on over to Pals Paper Arts and they had this great sketch:
PPA228 Nov 20

I loved the layout and decided to rotate it for my needs. Here is what I came up with:

I used  base of Crisp Cantaloupe, layers of Hello Honey, Baked Brown Sugar and Lullaby DP. I ran the Brown Sugar through my scallop EF and tied from thick Bakers Twine in Crisp Cantaloupe around the Hello Honey strip. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs. Very simple design that was very easy to work with!
Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Mash Up on a Tuesday

Hi All,
I wanted to share a card I designed the other day based off of the Friday Mash Up's great sketch challenge:

This week's Mashup Challenge is:
  • Create a project using the "Sketch".
  • Create a project using a "surprise element, something you wouldn't expect to see on a card/or an unexpected embellishment".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project "using the Sketch and a unexpected Embellishment".

I decided to just stick with the sketch:

I used the Sweet Taffy Dp as I needed something cheery with the dreary weather! I also used the Bitty Banners stamp set and framelits for the sentiment. A vintage clear button and I was done! Love it! Thanks for stopping by!

Back in Black Thank You

Hi All,
I was able to sneak in a card last night between working a half day and good old house work. I need to create a Thank You card for an up coming Stamp a Stack. I decided to break open my Back to Black Designer Paper package that I ordered and haven't had a chance to work with. I had a hard time choosing which piece to start with, as they are all so sharp. See for yourself:

I thought pairing the designs with Strawberry Slush really helped to "pop" the image. I decided to use my Happy Hour set and hand colored the glass with Strawberry Slush and Basic Black with a little added sparkle by making the straw silver. Some Basic Black Satin ribbon and I was done.
Very cheerful card!

Homemade Thanksgiving

Evening All,
I wanted to share a card I made to send out this week for Thanksgiving, which I can not believe is already upon us! I have been having a lot of fun with the Photopolymer Stamp set Homemade Holiday! Its super easy to use and the possibilities are endless! Here is my latest creation:

I kept the house simple and added the color with the leaves and pumpkin. I used some left over Spice Cake DP that I had saved. I added some Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon and I was done. Course, when my little one wakes up I was thinking I may emboss his handprint on some of my relatives cards and make a turkey out of his fingers! I think my sister will get a kick out of it!! Have a great night!

Hi All,
I wanted to share another card that I made in preparation for a friends upcoming Stamp a Stack. I had gone on over to Mojo Monday and they had this great sketch:
I decided to rotate the sketch for my purposes. Here is what I came up with:

Still plugging along!

Evening All,
Well I haven't gotten much done this weekend except playing with my little one and watching over my step son as he recovers but I did sneak a few craft items in between the naps and handing out meds! I was surfing a little on line while my son napped (love holding him when he does nap as it never lasts long) and came across some "ripped" cards and thought that I should revisit that technique. Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Very Vanilla, some Early Espresso and some Newsprint DP. My stamp is from lovely as a tree and of course I added some sponging and a little Victorian Lace. Love the warmth of the card! Hope you do to!
Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Exhausted!!

Evening All,
Well after dragging myself back to work this week and dealing with leaving my little one for extended periods of time I was trying to decompress and complete a few cards for a future stamp a stack a friend is having. With having less time to craft I try to be more efficient so I knew, sitting down that I had no idea for a layout so I went on over to Freshly Made Sketches and they did not disappoint, Check out this weeks sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Whisper White, a layer of Pistachio Pudding, another layer of Whisper White and a panel of the All is Calm DP. This paper is very elegant and makes card making a snap with the patterns. I used the sentiment from Homemade Holiday Photopolymer stamp set and punched it out with the Modern Label punch. A little of my favorite ribbon and I was done. Love it!

Dasher

Morning All,
At this very early hour I finally had a chance to finish a card that I have been prepping for an upcoming stamp a stack. Going back to work with a little one has been quite challenging and I have to admit that I started this card five days ago!! Hopefully I will be able to get into the swing of things soon! Without further adieu here is my latest creation:

I used a base of Very Vanilla with some layers of Early Espresso. I pulled out some old favorites for this, including Dasher and Short and Sweet. Not to mention some of the Victorian ribbon that I have squired away. I thought stamping on the newsprint gave it a bit of a nostalgic feel.
Thanks for stopping by!
