Just Believe Faux Tiles

Morning All,
I wanted to share a card that I will be making at my next stamp club. I already shared my "Thank You" notes to my club members, which focused on the soon to retire "Just Believe" stamp set and a technique that uses the scoring tool to make faux tiles. I wanted to give my club members a chance to make their own, as it is a great technique thats easy to do with the scoring tool:
I used the color combo of River Rock (soon to retire) and Early Espresso. After scoring the River Rock every inch and sponging I added a few Vintage Trinkets on the center of the punched out circle and on the canvas ribbon and I was done. I LOVE that you can stamp on the canvas ribbon! Gives the card that rustic feel! Hope you have a great day!

April thank you's!

Evening All,
I thought I would share a quick picture of the April thank you's that I made this evening! The Stampin Up Scoring Tool made it super quick and easy! I will be sharing with the Stampin Up retiring list tomorrow and chose to use one of the sets that is destined for retirement: "Just Believe". Here is the Thank You that I made with it:

I used the diagonal scoring plate to get the look of faux tile Cool and easy! I scored every inch on one side, rotated the card and scored on the oppostire side, stamped sponged and was done! Great effect! Email with any questions! Hope you have a great night!

Sanded Butterflie

Evening All
A quick post before I pack it in! Sad to say I am looking forward to a normal routine with a seriously nasty headache that has just not let go for days amongst other things, I am just spent! So I thought I would share one of Stampin Up's new and coolest (well in my opinion!) products! Their stamping system! They have thicker 12x12 cardstock in three colors (Pool Party, Primrose Petals and Rose Red) and new sanding blocks that are super easy to use!! Here is an example of something that only took minutes to put together:
I used the PrimRose Petal paper and ran it through the Beautiful Butterflies Diez, ran them through my Vintage folder, sanded the butterflies, adhered to the Canvas ribbon on a piece of Tea for Two DP, Lucky Limade Cardstock and Primrose Petals Cardstock on the base of Very Vanilla. A few Pearls and I was done. My club loved this! Super fast with a great "WOW" factor!! You will have to try it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Blooming with Kindness

Evening All,
Thought I would share another care I made for my club last month. I recently took advantage of the single stamp sales that Stampin Up has been offering and purchased the flower from Blooming with Kindness set and absolutely love it!! Check it out:
Awesome flower for embossing. I chose to play with using tone on tone and heat embossed the flower in black on Wisteria Wonder cardstock, then outlined some of the petals with the Wisteria Wonder marker and "popped" some of the petals with the gel pen. I love adding that "punch" of black to the subtles. Its eye catching and elegant. The perfect sentiment from the Pursuit of Happiness, pearls, Bakers Twine and a background of Tea for Two and I was done! Hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Stained Glass Swallowtail

Morning All,
Thought I would share another card I made recently for my club members before I start my day. I am in LOVE with the Swallowtail butterfly stamp in the new mini and have really loved using it. I really wanted to highlight the intricate detail of the stamp and thought no better way to do that then to use the stained glass technique.

I heat embossed the butterfly in Pewter on Vellum Cardstock, then I used my daubers and added Pool Party, Island Indigo and Wisteria Wonder ink to the back and sponged the edge of the Tea for Two DP. Love the effect!
Have a great day!

Betsy's Blooms

Evening All,
I wanted to quickly post a card I made for my club. I used my Betsy's Blooms stamp set and the Floral District DP as I needed some bright, cheerful color! I also wanted to try something I saw on someones blog (my apologies as I cant find it again to give credit!) with a little deviation with the Labels Framelits. Here is what I came up with:
I love the bright colors of the Floral District DP!! Perfect after a dreary winter! I used Certainly Celery as my base and used Basic Black to help "pop" the Daffodil Delight DP. I then used the Labels Framelits and made a frame out of the Daffodil Delight that then framed the punch out on the Whisper White. Clear as mud right!!? I stamped the bird from Betsy's Blooms in Elegant Eggplant and cut him out so that he was peeking between the frames. Topped it off with a saying the Curly Cute set and its ready to go! Email with any questions!
Have a great night!

I distressed the edges with the very easy to use distressing tool and love the effect. Especially after I sponged it with some Crumb Cake! Very fun card! Well, hope your enjoying the welcomed warm weather!

Frosted Swallowtail

Evening All,
I thought I would start sharing some of my creations from the past few months. Even though I haven't had all the time I would have liked I did manage to sneak in a little bit of "creative time" here and there! I am sharing my favorite stamp from the new Spring Mini: Swallowtail
As you can see I also added the beautiful new designer paper: Tea for Two!! So beautiful and the wide arrange of prints are very versatile!! Hopefully you can see that I used the embossing powder from the new mini: Pool Party (of course!) and then I actually tried my hand at an idea that was listed in the mini. I took the frosted white shimmer paint and went over the embossed image with my aqua painters and WOW what a shine! Love the effect!! This is a must try!!
Have a great night!!

I'm BACK!!

Hi All,
I am SO SO sorry for the long hiatus!! I developed computer issues (like a fried hard drive) when I returned from my vacation and then had a few life changes that did NOT include Wifi!! I am now officially "wired" again and have SO much to tell you!!

First Stampin Up is going through a color change!! I am SUPER excited as my favorite blue of all time "Pool Party" is staying!! Woo Hoo!!!! Here is Stampin Up's News Release and New Color Chart:

Announcing our Color Refresh! We love color and we know that you do too. Color is fundamental to who we are and what we offer. It's important for us to stay up-to-date with color trends so we are thrilled to share our updated line of colors, and hope you will be as excited as we are by the new possibilities!
Why now? In 2010 we did a big color renovation and shared our plans for smaller color refreshes every three to five years to keep our colors on trend. Well it has been three years and we are excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! We are welcoming back some of your favorites, moving some colors around, and introducing one brand-new color, so take a look!

Beginning on April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period. So stock up on your favorite retiring colors!

Second, as part of the Stampin' Up! 25-year anniversary celebration, they're bringing back some of our favorite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into 12 sets, which will release-one set per month-during 2013. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image! This month is the "Best of Butterflies" Edition!!

Some things to remember:
  • Previously released stamps are not the same size they originally were. (Please print and refer to the stamp set flyer for accurate dimensions).
  • All Best of stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $14.95.
  • While Stampin' Up! is releasing just one Best of stamp set per month (with a new theme each month), all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.
  • A new flyer will be released every month for each new Best of set.
  • All Best of stamp sets are available in Clear-Mount only.
Finally, Stampin UP! Watercolor pencils and Crayons are discontinued effective immediately. You can still purchase the remaining collections of the Watercolor Wonder Crayons: Subtles (item 119802), Neutrals (item 119805), and Regals (item 119803). Only available while supplies last!

Phew!! Well that is enough for the night!! Hope to post some of my creations soon!!
Have a great night!
