The Polar Express!

Hi All,
Well on this rainy day in New England I spent the day catching up on some crafting! I am going to spend some time at my friends this coming weekend completing some Christmas cards. Since I was in the spirit I decided to plan another card for a potential class after I saw the sketch over at Pals Paper Arts.
PPA224 Oct 16

Loved the clean lines! Here is what I came up with:

I finally got a chance to play with my Traveler stamp set. I heat embossed the train in homage to the Polar Express story and used the gorgeous new All is Calm DP. I am a huge fan of using shades of blue with Christmas cards and combining them with silver. I also used the new Lost Lagoon ribbon available in the new Holiday Catalog! LOVE this color! I used the sentiment from Petite Pairs. I will definitely have to use this card at an upcoming class!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Labor Day

Morning All,
Happy Labor Day! I wanted to share a card that I finally finished this morning but started almost a week ago!! I had gone over to Try Stamping on Tuesday and they had this great sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Naturals White, with some left over pieces of Howlstooth and Scaringbone retired DP. I stamped the tree from Lovely as a Tree in craft ink and heat embossed it. I used some vanilla ribbon for the bow and pearls for the top right column. At least I have started some of my Fall crafting!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Halloween??!!

Hi All,
With no baby yet and only half day shifts at work I carved out a little time (between some other projects and the couch!!) to work on my Great Aunt's Halloween cards, You see her 103ed birthday is in September and I always set her with up with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards. So! I was able to finish her Thanksgiving cards the other day and wanted to move onto her Halloween cards. So I went on over to Pals Paper Arts and they had another great sketch:
07-24

And here is what I came up with:

I used a base of Very Vanilla, heat embossed the bats from the retired Wicked Cool stamp set and some of my favorite pieces of the now retired Howlstooth and Scaringbone DP. Not sure if you can see but I used the awesome Silver Encore ink with the spider web behind the sentiment. Love the sparkle from that ink! Thanks for stopping by!

Onesie

Evening All,
Well I had a fairly productive night, for me anyway! I needed a baby card so I went to an old favorite that I haven't made in a while, a "onesie" card. For those who haven't seen one before its a card shaped like one of the cute onesis you see on newborns. Now to be fair I did not come up with it and actually don't know where the origin came from but I learned it from my fellow stamper over at "Oopadoodle". When you get a moment check out her blog. Without further adieu here is my take on it:
I used a circle punch for the neck and leg holes and just cut and measured for the sleeves. I heat embossed the diaper pin from Short and Sweet and also heat embossed the elephant (which happened to be a random stamp I had and loved). I added a few candy dots to the bottom and I was done! Love it! Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Easter

Evening All,
Sorry for the little hiatus! I have been swamped at work and have not had the energy in the evenings to do much!! Anyway I knew that I needed to get a move on with my Easter cards so I began looking for a sketch that would motivate me. Of course I found one over at Freshly Made Sketches! Check out this weeks sketch:
I pulled some of my new toys and here is what I came up with:

I used a mix of old and new with some Cottage Wall retired DP I had with a new Easter set called "Eggstra Spectacular". I really liked the simple sentiment with the back of the bunny. Of course I had to add a pearl for his tail!! I went very monochromatic with Rich Razzleberry. Well off to pack it in! Have a great night!

Being Productive!!

Hi All,
Well another snow day here in New England! Very very tired of it! What can you do though except make the most of it?? So I am trying to get a lot of projects done and finally got my card done for my fiancee. I, of course, was blanking on a layout so I went on over to CAS colour and sketches blog and they did not disappoint. Here is the sketch:

I decided to rotate it for my purposes. Here is what I came up with:

I used some of my retired Sending Love DP, I chose a sentiment from Short and Sweet and heat embossed it in gold and then popped it out with a heart punch. Hope he likes it! Stay warm today!

PPA 188

Hi All,
Sorry for my delay with posting, been super busy and have been neglecting my poor craft room! I realized that I needed to get some Valentine's done for myself as I have to mail them out soon. I have been dealing with a little bit of a "block" for designs so I went on over to Pals Paper Arts and they had a great sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

I always say use your supplies so that is exactly what I did. I used a base of Pretty in Pink, some Early Espresso as a layer and some Early Espresso toile that I had. I used one of my favorite sentiments sets "Well Scripted" and Sending Love DP. I really love the combo of pink and brown. Thanks for stopping by!

Open Sleigh

Hi All,
I was actually able to get some extra crafting time in today and finished my sister's Christmas Cards. Here is what I came up with:

I heat embossed the sleigh from the Open Sleigh set in Pewter and layered it on the Labels Framelits. I used the canvas ribbon on layers of DP, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. I love how heat embossing an image can make a simple card elegant! Have a great week!

Old and New

Hi All,
Got home after another long commute and decided that I needed a "crafting" break before I set off to see the horse. So I set off to design my Great Aunt's Halloween cards. I decided to use some of my Howlstooth and Scaringbone DP, combine it with the Frightening Feline stamp with the new Black Glitter! Love it!
I hope you can see the glitter sparkle! I added the rhinestones for the eyes and corner effect, ribbon across the DP and a sentiment from the Spooky Bingo Bits set and I was done. Hope she likes it have a great day!

New Halloween Toys

Hi All,
I finally got a chance to craft a bunch of Halloween cards for myself yesterday and wanted to share my design as well as some of the new items that I used from the Holiday Mini! I am a BIG fan of Halloween and loved the single stamp "Halloween Happiness" from the mini! I also really liked the idea of using the black and orange glitter. I have to let you in on a secret, I have never used the Heat and Stick powder even though I have had some for awhile and thought now would be a good time to use it!

I love the retired howlstooth and scaringbone paper and decided it was perfect to use for my personal Halloween cards. Lord knows I save every scrap of my DP to use for all my projects! I tried to get you all a closer look so you can see the glitter. I thought it was pretty cute!

I cant believe all the projects I have left to do! My "to do" list always seems to get longer and not shorter! Though I have to admit that I love to add to my crafting list! Have a great day!
